Amantadine might appear to be a wonder drug but is still not without its side effects.
Common adverse reactions include - dizziness, constipation, a purple or blue network pattern on the skin, difficulty urinating, insomnia, nervousness, nausea, vomiting, headache, irritability, upset stomach (should be taken with food or milk), blurred vision, swelling of the ankles and depression. If you are pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, discuss the potential risks of this or any medication with your doctor. Use caution if over 60 years of age.
